How to host an indulgent chocolate party

A cooler change in the weather invites a great excuse to cozy up with some chocolate! As much as we'd love to indulge in a chocolate party for one, the better idea would be to share! Here are 5 key elements to a party guaranteed to be choc-full of deliciousness.

1. The Invitations
Start with a sneak preview of what's to come. Head to John Walker Chocolatier in the Fresh Food Marketplace for a personalised choccy treat, you can choose from chocolate freckles, chocolate bars and more.

2. The Decorations
Get creative! There's a lot you can do with chocolate bars. String them together to make a wreath, use chocolate syrup to personalise each guests plate or create chocolate table confetti with chocolate drops or chocolate kisses. Try Coles, Woolworths, Funworks or John Walker Chocolatier.

3. The Menu
There are so many chocolate recipes out there, but our favourite idea is the Hot Chocolate Bar. Head to Wheel and Barrow, Bed Bath & Table or Kmart for a selection of mugs, get your toppings from Coles, Woolworths or Funworks (think rainbow marshmallows, chocolate drops and cinnamon) and handcrafted milk chocolate shavings from John Walker Chocolatier as the hot choc mix!

4. The Activities
Guess Who, chocolate edition: Fill a bowl with a selection of different chocolates and have your guests guess what flavour they are! John Walker offer an incredible selection of sweet, salty and spiked chocolate truffles including champagne, rum and more. Next, put on a movie, our recommendation is the classic Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (head to Kmart or JB HiFi). Relax with some red wine from Liquorland and perfectly matched dark chocolate.

5. The Favours
Thanks for coming! Any leftover chocolate from the party can be used up as favours. Our favourite idea is a take-home hot chocolate. Fill a mug with the dairy milk shavings and a selection of toppings and your guests are good to go!
