The Australian Fashion Chamber’s Designers Abroad Paris showroom showcases Spring/Summer 2018 ready-to-wear fashion.
As part of the Spring/Summer 2018 Ready-To-Wear Fashion Week in Paris, the Australian Fashion Chamber held its Designers Abroad Showroom, providing six Australian Designers the opportunity to showcase from 26 September to 3 October 2017.
The line-up included a mix of established and emerging Australian fashion talent: Búl , Heart of Bone, Romance Was Born, Roopa , Sener Besim , and STRATEAS.CARLUCCI . Representing the finest in Australian fashion, the designers were chosen based on their industry skill, strength of their current seasonal collection and potential success in the international market. This will be the fifth Australian Designer’s Abroad event in Paris, one of the most prestigious stages for ready-to-wear collections, attended by a variety of international retailers, media and industry players.
Launched by the Australian Fashion Chamber in 2015, this initiative strives to build the profiles of talented Australian designers during international fashion weeks, cementing reputations, and growing stockists aboard.
"With the commencement of our sixth Designers Abroad Showroom, the Australian Fashion Chamber has proven there is a positive, global interest in contemporary Australian fashion. This opportunity offers our designers a chance to reach international markets in a key period of the fashion calendar."
— Australian Fashion Chamber Chair Edwina McCann.
The Australian Designers Aboard Showroom was centrally located at 9 Place des Vosges, Paris 75004 during Paris Fashion Week. Launching with an Opening Night presentation, attended by key international media, buyers, influencers, and government officials.
In the lead-up to the event, the Australian Fashion Chamber worked collaboratively with the designers ensuring that they were well prepared to meet the demands of the global fashion marketplace.
