CHRISTMAS PARTY DRESSING

It’s that time of year!  The office Christmas Party season has officially kicked off and I’m so excited to have another reason to glam up!  Whether it’s an office party event, a school Mum night out, a book club daytime soiree or you are part of a large Corporate who throws the best Christmas Balls in town, I’m here to guide you through the Christmas festivities in style!

If you work in an office, what did you wear today?  Chances are your outfit was considerably more casual than it was a few years ago! Office dress codes keep getting more relaxed, spurred in part by the influx of millennials in the workforce.  I’d still suggest keeping denim for casual Fridays and always go blazer over cardigan BUT, I’m loving how the lines have blurred between our neat casual wardrobe and our corporate closet!  It means, more versatility, a reduction in cost per wear and having the opportunity to express yourself through your own unique personal style, not being governed by a strict dress code at work.  It enables the transition from Day to Night/Office to wine bar, to be a seamless one!

DAY DRESSING

Who doesn’t love frocking up?  Think daytime party dress, in festive bright block colours or florals.  Why not complete your look with a gorgeous hair accessory from Mimco or Lovisa?  It’s the festive season.  Bling is not only acceptable but expected!

COCKTAIL HOUR

If you are lucky enough to be part of an organisation who splurges on a night out for you and your team, don’t hold back.  This is the perfect opportunity to show off your chic, quirky, classic or contemporary off-duty style with an amazing cocktail outfit.  I know how important the perfect heel is to compliment your outfit – however, don’t sacrifice comfort for style - you can have both!  Wittner Shoes are a perfect example... they use top quality leather, have 3mm padding and an additional 3mm of memory foam technology.  You don’t want your heels to play the Christmas Grinch of your evening, ladies.

FANCY PANTS

Wearing the pants is practical and a huge trend this season!  Offering comfort and style, a wide leg pant, culotte, tailored short or jumpsuit is the perfect choice for a work Christmas party.  There is a colour and style at Garden City for everybody shape, budget and style.

Open your mind and allow yourself to be curious. Venture into stores/labels you wouldn’t normally shop. Above all, be confident as that is the best accessory you can wear. Click here to find out more about The Style Room and how I can help you for your next special event.
