Everything sleeveless for AW16 Anything sleeveless goes this winter. Whether it’s a sleeveless coat, cardigan, vest or whatever you may have that’s sleeveless, it’s the ‘it’ piece for AW16. Sleeveless outerwear is chic, functional and one of super-blogger Gary Pepper Girl’s signature pieces. It’s another versatile item that will amplify your whole look when worn correctly. Wearing your sleeveless coat (or any of the above sleeveless pieces) can be tricky. Your sleeveless coat is like a vest. It keeps your core warm and is a great transitional piece between autumn to winter. It’s perfect for creating a lengthening and slimming effect in one go which is great for those ladies who are top-heavy. Sleeveless coats are also very versatile and a great layering piece. You can mix and match this piece with absolutely anything without adding too much bulk to the entire outfit. It’s also great if you want to move your arms about more freely in the cool weather. Here are some great ways to wear your sleeveless coat: 1) If the weather is too cold, you can always opt for a double layer of coats, either by having a sleeveless coat underneath and a top coat over it. Button up whichever coat that’s underneath to create a structured look. Hint: mix different lengths of coat for balance and to minimize bulk. 2) Pair your sleeveless coat with a maxi dress. Ensure that the dress is longer than the coat to show off the hem of the dress. If the dress has patterns or prints, the sleeveless coat should be plain otherwise your outfit will look too ‘busy’. Start your collection of sleeveless coats with a piece of monochromatic colour. The safest options will always be any of the neutral tones like black, white, grey, or beige but vamp it up with prints and patterns. 3) Try your sleeveless coat with a turtle neck sweater and pull up those sleeves- it’s really simple yet chic. You can also layer different textures. Try a woollen knit under a suede sleeveless coat or even a burgundy velvet longline vest over a grey t-shirt and denim jeans. Sleeveless outerwear is a must have this season and has been at the forefront of many AW16 collections.
