Bardot Denim

Denim jeans have lived up to its name for over 250 years. In fact, they were originally workwear for labourers. By 1890, the Levi Strauss ‘501’ classic was born. In the 1950s, Hollywood romanticized denim jeans and they became a social statement of rebellion and individuality that quickly morphed into a symbol of youth. Today, denim jeans are the ultimate staple piece in every woman’s wardrobe. With countless styles, cuts, and fits to choose from, Bardot jeans delivers a relaxed denim statement with attitude. Bardot jeans feature the latest trends straight from international runways, are well-fitted, and feature the label’s signature Bardot logo on the back pockets. In a world swamped with denim jeans we’ll let you in on our top tips for finding the perfect pair from Bardot.

AIM FOR:

- A rise just below your waist to best flatter your tummy. Anything too high creates a bubble and a low rise can be tricky for soft hips.

- A darker denim as it is more flattering an easier to dress up.

- A firm fit with a little stretch, which adds extra comfort and fits better.

- A timeless boot-leg or straight leg cut. Play with of-the-moment styles once you have stocked up on these.

- Larger flat pockets, which best flatter a bigger derriere, whereas smaller pockets add curves to flat ones.

- Hem length to the bottom of your heel

AVOID:

- A rise low enough to reveal a muffin top.  The wrong fit will inevitably create one, no matter how thin you are.

- Any builder’s crack peeking out from behind. Certainly no underwear above the waistline.

- Tight skinny-leg jeans if you have thick legs or bulky muscles. These are unflattering and will make your legs look twice as big.

- Buying jeans without trying them on. You might be a size 10 in your favourite denim brand and brush off trying them on. This is definitely a no no! Try them on, bend over, squat and stretch your legs to ensure they are comfortable and the right fit.

- At Bardot you’ll find everything from flattering high-rise jeans to low-rise hipsters to street-style ripped jeans in a multitude of navy, black, beige and white. Bardot AW16 denim collection is now available in store.
