A new ambassador for Garden City
Welcome to Sophie Falkiner as the new ambassador for Garden City Shopping Centre! Sophie is a fun-loving mum, media personality and TV presenter and is now the new ambassador for Garden City.
Best known as presenter on Australia’s most popular television programs such as Wheel of Fortune, The Great Outdoors and Confidential, Sophie is the ideal choice for WA's most popular shopping destination. Garden City has committed to a three-year partnership with Sophie Falkiner which will see her inspiring the centre’s winter and summer fashion campaigns, hosting events, making public appearances and offering lifestyle and fashion tips.
THE LOOKS FOR WINTER 2008:
Hollywood Glamour
'Hollywood Glamour' is inspired by the high end glamour of iconic Hollywood screen sirens. From short to long, day into evening, fabrics will be fluid, floaty and utterly feminine with colour a strong contrast against a palette of silver and gold metallic and the dramatic statement only black can make.
The Little Black Dress makes its welcome return and is worn fitted or with a full skirt and is enhanced with feather trims, jewels and extravagant retro style accessories from shoes to jewellery capped off with slinky black full length gloves.
Metallics are big across all accessory stories as are muted greys, charcoals and browns in the softest leathers, silks and raw hides and fur.

Luscious Lustre
This winter, everyone will be taking a shine to the 'Luscious Lustre' look that’s best described as ‘shimmering’. Body shape is the focus in a fashion theme that drapes lustrous fashion design from head to toe.
Fabrics are shot with metallic thread, studded with sequins and metal, fringed in gold, silver and gun metal and appliquéd with anything that shines.
Dresses can effectively be nipped in at the waist with a black patent belt. Other options include reverting to a classic ‘A’ line above or below the knee or putting it together with a pinch here and there to create optimal personal effect.
